Irul is a malayalam language mystery thriller released in 2021 available on Netflix. Irul means darkness.

This is my third movie of the day after Uru (2017) & Koi Jaane Na (2021), where all had a few things common. All three movies were thriller and one of the main character was a book writer. I guess either the writers are turning into serial killers or the killers have started writing.

Jokes apart, let’s come to the story. Alax is a book writer who recently launched his first book based on serial killings, recently got in a relationship with Archna who is a lawyer by profession. Alax plan a surprise trip on weekend and both agree to go without their cellphones.

But as their car broke down mid way they had to seek shelter in a nearby house. The person inside the house a quite mysterious and interesting. As the night goes on with some questions and answers, an electric shut down reveals a murder in the basement and the killer among them.

Who is the killer …..???

The story has a lot of twists and turns and kinda interesting and also engaging for viewers. And I must say the best thriller u have seen today. The acting and direction of the film is also good.

Overall the film is good and watchable. You may feel bore in between the scenes where there are no dialogues but rest is fine. And the ending could have been a bit better as well. But you can surely watch this on Netflix.

Koi Jaane Na (Bollywood – 2021)

Koi Jaane Na is a 2021 hindi language bollywood psychological thriller film recently released which you can all watch on Amazon Prime. But the question is, is it watchable enough?

Will answer that later but first let me brief you about the story a bit. The story is about a famous book writer also a YouTube influencer who is struggling to write his second book in contract. The man is divorced and his ex-wife wanna destroy him. The reason of hatred is unknown in the movie. Just to complete his book he goes to a quiet hill station to his family owned house where in the mid may he meets the main girl (Actress of the film).

Things mess up when a murder happen and revealing things about Kunal’s personality comes to light. But that’s just a start. A serial killer is on loose who copy the style of a frictional character written by Kunal.

Who is this killer? Why all this is happening? And many more questions came to my mind as well as I was watching the movie.

I know because of the star cast a lot of you have already decided not to watch the movie but you are absolutely right. The film is baseless with poor acting skills as well as poor direction.

The worst part is the story which make no sense. Most murders had no reason with the suspect never caught. And even the end doesn’t explain half of the things. I guess the makers wanna end it with a suspense but again failed to create the thrill.

Ashwini Kalsekar and the cameo of Amir Khan were the only good parts of the movie and rest is a big disappointment.

If you ask me there are a lot good thriller movie to watch rather then this one. And I won’t recommend you this one. The story make no sense at all.

Potter’s Ground (2021)

Potter’s ground is a 2021 western crime drama thriller film written by Scott Crain.

Directly coming to the story, the film is about a team of former confederate outlaws who are given a task to find of three different pieces of a key that led to a door of lost treasure. The story is timed in the era where civil war is about to end and these outlaws must find the key to avoid serious charges against them. Luckily they have one piece before the quest even starts.

Now just to look for the rest two pieces the journey starts but there is more to it as they all have to encounter some supernatural things as well and to find out all the elements in the film you have to watch it.

Filmed with a small budget the direction and acting is phenomenal and also the story line. Being a drama the story is a bit slow but that’s how these movies are. The adventure is interesting and make you eager to watch what’s coming next.

Overall is western drama is your taste the movie is not to miss. And at times when there is not much to watch, Potter’s Ground is a good option.

Fast and Furious 9 (2021)

Fast & Furious 9 Or in short F9 is the ninth edition and an action adventure movie of the franchise released in 2021 and who knows we might see 10th, 11th and many more.

In past years we have seen a lot movie series like Harry Potter with 8 movies and Fantastic Beasts coming out of the same franchise, also Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit making a total of six films and Star Wars with a lot movies and tv-series as well. And we all love to watch them and keep waiting for the next part to come.

Now coming to the story of F9, surprisingly Dominc has a brother who is a super spy and one of the best car driver ever seen. But he is invisible because he is John Cena and you can’t see him!! Jokes apart.

That’s it, I am not going to tell you any more as we all know what can be in the story. It’s always the same, more cars, more action, family reunion and all. Nothing much to tell and also nothing much to watch.

Just a few things you need to know is that falling on cars is like falling on pillows. No no, this was not a joke. It was the movie concept. Also Fast and Furious is now doing space missions.

Yeh, you read it right, the cars are in space now. And may be after a few parts they will join the forces with Star Wars and you may see them flying space ships battling around the galaxy.

When I told you about the film franchise we all love and wait for, this is not the one. I guess thay should have stopped after 5th or 6th but now it’s too late.

One thing I surely missed in movie was Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Nothing else to miss though.

The film is not that great as we expect and not so bad even. If you wanna watch go for it but if you don’t you won’t miss anything. Most of the people watched it because of John Cena but you still can’t see him. LoL

Wrath of Man (2021)

As a fan of Jason this movie was on my watchlist and I was waiting for this to come. And now the wait os over and I have seen the movie.

Wrath of Man is a 2021 action thriller with so many of good reviews. The story is about Jason joining a security company as a guard for the cash trucks. During a robbery, he show precision skills by killing the robbers, save the cash truck and surprising his coworkers. He does all that without even a blink making him more mysterious.

It raise so many questions. Who is this guy? Why is he here? And these questions are soon answered in the film but I am not going to disclose that. You need to watch the film to know more.

But… Yeh I know, here is a ‘But’, and we all know Jason is a legend and the movie start real good with a great buildup of his mysterious character but then they made it a crap. Yes read it right. The start up was like John Wick and Mr. Nobody could add this one as a team but they are long lost.

The story is simple but crafted nicely but the much needed action were really missing. All my expectations went down after the first half where they lost the plot.

Some critic are saying it’s the best movie of Jason, I guess this is the only they have seen then. The film could have been much better with the same story if the action were much more and if Jason was in one vs all kinda plot.

Army of the Dead (2021)

One of the most awaited 2021 horror action film Army of the Dead is now available on Netflix and all of you must be eager to watch it out.

We all know evolution is the way of life and from past so many million years, we human, plants & also animals evolved a lot and the process is still going on. And now it’s time for Zombies to evolve. In World War Z they were just fast, but now they are smart as well with some other upgrades.

Within 5min you will get to know how the city became a zombie city. But the movie start when Bautista receives an offer to go to the city with his team returning with a huge amount of money. When they are about to enter Dave’s daughter joins them to save her friend who entered the city previous day due to some circumstances.

Then I guess we all know what gonna happen. Lot of action and the special effects in the movie are mesmerizing. Specifically the tiger we all have seen in the trailer of the film.

The movie is action packed and we all waited a lot for this one. And a zombie movie is hard to miss these days. But don’t keep your hopes too high for this one. I know the review are good and even the rating on IMDB is 7.5, but the movie has a lot things missing. The over-emotional stupidity by a few characters is really annoying and also seems unnecessary part of the movie.

In between the film becomes real slow and boring and sometimes it’s all exciting and full of action. The evolved zombies are real entertaining on screen and a few are hard to kill. Although with a city full of zombies including a tiger and horse, I didn’t find any fat zombie in the film.

Emotional Stupidity: The movie is about a girl who is ready to sacrifice her father and few more people for a greedy friend.

I guess that was the most simplified way to tell you about the movie. Zombies and action, that’s enough for us to watch this film, just don’t keep your hops too high.

Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar (Bollywood – 2021)

Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar is a 2021 hindi language dark comedy drama film which you can watch on Amazon Prime.

Now let me brief you about the story where Sandeep is Parineeti and Pinky is Arjun. No no no, the movie is nothing like Daud (1997). So Pinky has to do a small pick and drop as ordered, to regain his lost police position. He pick up Sandeep from a club and on the way he gets to know that the higher official wants to kill them both after an incident. Pinky soon realise they were after Sandeep who is blackmailing her boss and now her boss wanna get rid of her.

After Sandeep offers money, Pinky agrees to take her with him to the safety and get out of all the mess.

What has Sandeep done? Why they are Faraar (Absconding)? How will they manage their escape? And other questions will come to your mind. And to answer all those you need to watch the movie.

The critic has given a very low rating to this and you can understand that by the star cast.

But too your surprise, Parineeti has shown everyone that Arjun can act and also do some good roles as she was the only one not doing acting in this movie too.

The ex police role of Arjun suited him and was justified. The accent was also good and he was looking great in this one. Whereas Parineeti’s face expression where throughout missing.

Overall the movie is very slow and the story is also kinda boring. There is nothing like dark comedy, the film is more of a drama. And storyline fails to make any kinda impact on viewers. The film ends just like that with an obvious understanding, instead they should have explained it more.

It’s up to you, watch it or not. The film is not good, not that bad as well.

The Woman in the Window (2021)

2021 American psychological thriller movie The Woman in the Window is based on a novel by A J Finn by the same name. There are several reports of re-shoots and re-edits of this film still getting mixed reviews, most of which are negative.

The story is about a woman who is agoraphobic (Fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness or embarrassment) and depressed as well taking a treatment at her home. Home captivity develop a habit of looking out of the window and keep watch on everyone around in her as a healthy way to get out of depression. But soon this habit becomes an obsession as the new neighbors moved in and their son tries to talk and befriend.

The things turn around when she witness a murder and find herself between a messed up situation where it’s hard to decide between friction and reality.

I am not much of a reader so the best part is not comparing the movie with the book. But the story of the film reminds me of a Bollywood movie ‘Judgemental hai Kya’ released in 2019. It’s rare that I found a Hollywood movie similar to Bollywood as mostly it’s the opposite.

The suspense of the film is quite thrilling and also unexpected. Even the storyline is interesting but still I can understand why many of them don’t like it. No no, I am not going to compare it with the book but yes I find the story very slow and even after being a thriller most of us can skip in between while watching on Netflix to get to the main point.

But still the film is a good watch and the ending will surprise you. When I said the movie has mixed reviews, I will give a positive one for this.

Sardar Ka Grandson (Bollywood – 2021)

Sardar ka Grandson is a 2021 hindi language romcom dram available on Netflix.

Not wasting much of your time and let’s talk about the story of the film where Arjun is the grandson and Neena Gupta as the grandma and also the center of the story. With her I’ll health and as a last wish she wants to go to Lahor (Pakistan) to her old house but due to some funny reason her visa is not approved. But her grandson promises to take her Lahor soon realise that it’s not possible.

Thinking from a different angle, he gets the idea of relocation, from Lahor to Amritsar. The idea is surprising but he has to face a lot of problems. To find out what all he has to face, you need to watch this decent family film.

The critic is not at all positive about the movie and they are pick pointing each small details the movie missed, and they are right at their part also. We all agree that movie has many mistakes even Arjun being one of them as he needs to improve a lot on his acting skills.

But still I find the movie a decent watch and also a nice family time movie. To all the critic, I wanna tell you that ordinary people don’t much care about how Lahor looked in 1947 or why they huged publicly in those times making it a movie mistake. People just watch movies for entertainment.

Although there was a scope for improvement.

Neena Gupta as always was the best and even the flashbacks with John and Aditi were amazing. Arjun Kapoor really need to work on his acting skills. But still the movie is a decent watch and if you have nothing to do, you can watch it out.

I am All Girls (2021)

I am All Girls is a 2021 crime drama movie based and inspired by true events.

Gert De Jager was a South African offender who was charged with the abduction of six girls never to be found. He was imprisoned in 1994 , where he gave his statement. During his confession, he disclosed about the cabinet minister involvement and also about the human trafficking from South Africa to gulf countries for different benefits of the higher officials. The confession tape was never released by the government and Gert De Jager was killed after just after this.

Coming to the story, a detective working on the human or you can say child trafficking case suddenly gets a lead through a murder. The victim was an old offender murdered brutally with initials carved on his chest. The initials are of one of the six missing girls.

So the case gets on track recovering lot of kids from being trafficking and murder of more offenders the same way, carved initials on their chest. Turned out that one of those six actually got away and becomes a vigilante, committing the murders and saving lives. But the mystery is yet to solve by detective.

The movie is quite interesting and raise lot of questions about the crimes of human trafficking which has a very low recovery rate of only 1%.

The acting and direction were both good making the film interesting and watchable. Although the critic reviews are very low according to me. I agree that the movie becomes a bit slow while coming to the ending and those 15 extra mins could have cut short. But still it’s a good watch.
