Boss Level (Hollywood – 2021)

Boss level is a 2021 english language action and sci-fi film. The film was originally announced in 2012 but after a lot delays it got released in 2021 March.

Roy Pulver, a retired soldier who has been stuck in a time loop, and has learnt the day’s patterns through many times. He wakes at 07:00 AM everyday, avoids an assassin in his apartment and an attack by a gunman in a helicopter outside his window, then escapes his apartment before it explodes. He has been able to elude more assassins throughout the morning, but finds himself unable to figure out how to survive a final attack at 12:47 PM, waking up back in his apartment on the next loop.

On the day before Roy entered the loop, his estranged wife Jemma had asked Roy to visit her at defense contractor Dynow Labs under the pretense of a job interview. The two argue over Joe, their son, who Jemma has led to believe that Roy is just a family friend. When Colonel Clive Ventor, head of Dynow, discovers Roy near Jemma’s highly classified project, he has him escorted out, but not before Jemma obtains a sample of Roy’s hair.

In one loop, Roy tries to call Jemma but instead reaches Ventor, who tells him that Jemma died from a lab accident the day before. Roy becomes suspicious. On a later loop, he finds Joe at skipping school for a vintage video game tournament. Roy spends the day with Joe but does not mention Jemma’s death. The assassins arrive to kill Roy, and Roy uses his body to protect Joe, telling him as he dies that he is his father.

After which Roy try to figure out how to end it all. How he do it is to watch in the film. There are a lot interesting things in the film. I know the concept of a time loop is not new and if someone will tell you the story you will also find it like an old concept. We have seen time loops in a lot movies. For this one I would like to say one thing only. The action scenes are good.

The movie has its own loopholes as well and in a few scenes you will find it boring and stretched but most of it is fun.

Overall the movie is fun to watch and a nice action film which you can easily go for. The concept is old but you will still find it interesting.

Tughlaq Darbar (Tamil – 2021)

Tughlaq Darbar is a 2021 Indian Tamil language political drama with a lot of thrill infused, which recently got released starring Vijay Sethupathi. You can watch the movie on Netflix.

While in 1986, the MLA of Tamil Nadu ruling party, Rayappan was delivering a speech and one of the attendents was a pregnant lady who got her labor during the speech. Rayappan seeing this, gives his lungi to cover up the lady. Rayappan name that boy Singaravelan, or “Singam”. Singam grows up as an orphan – his parents had died shortly after the birth of his younger sister.

Singam grew up looking at Rayappan dreaming of being a politician himself one day. In 2021, Rayappan, now an influential politician, looking for a suitable candidate to work as a councillor for J.K. Nagar. With his funny and weird methods Singam somehow joins the party and comes close to Rayappan. Mangalam – Rayappan’s right-hand man, who is also vying for the position don’t like Singam. Frustrated at being sidelined, an infuriated Mangalam smashes a bottle at Singam’s head; he is subsequently expelled from the ruling party for his ruthless behavior.

Shortly after the incident, Singam develops an alter ego or you can say a different personality, from his injuries. And the drama starts with a lot twists nd turns.

The film story and direction both are good and I guess we don’t need to say anything about acting. The film has great comic timing too. The first half of the movie was amazing and full of entertainment but yes the second half could have been improved a but.

Overall this political drama is a fun watch with full entertainment and not to be missed.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms (Animation – 2021)

Mortal Kombat legends: Battle of the Realms is a 2021 action fantasy animated film which is also a sequel to the last movie Scorpions Revenge and a part of Mortal Kombat frenchise.

Following the previous tournament, Shao Kahn declares war on Earthrealm. The Earthrealm’s chosen one’s are trying to protect and are holding ground.

But soon Lord Raiden and Shao Kahn comes to an agreement of a final Mortal Kombat battle which is going to decide the fate of all Realms. Both agree and goes to meet the elder Gods asking permission for the same.

And the final tournament begins. But that’s not all to it as there is something much more dangerous and destroying is coming which is a threat to all existence.

What’s that……? How the tournament ends…….? Which side is Scorpion now…? & Sub-Zero……?

To know all this you have to watch the movie. A few of the fans already have idea of what I am talking about but still watching all that is always fun.

Story part is well known by all of us and all who knows Mortal Kombat, they are aware about the awesome action scens and the blood sheds.

The film received mixed reviews and there is a reason to it but most of them are on a positive side. Action is good, story is good but still there are a few missing parts in the film.

The first thought I got in my mind after watching the movie was that Scorpion’s Revenge was much better then this.

Overall the movie is fun but lack interest in between and if compared to last part we had more expectations from this one.

But still you don’t wanna miss the film as we love the franchise. So just go for it.

Malik (Malayalam – 2021)

Malik is a 2021 Malayalam language political thriller and drama film recently released on Amazon Prime.

Coming to the story now. Malik is the godfather of Ramadapally, where muslims and christians live together. Thinking about leaving all the criminal activities he prepares to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage. Ali and his friend Aboobacker, a political leader, are on the verge of fallout over land acquisition from the locals for a harbour project. At the airport, the police arrest Malik under the Terrorist Act (TADA).

The police assign someone to kill Malik in custody but that guy dies in an explosion. They then intimidate Freddy, a juvenile arrested for throwing steel bombs at the police, into doing it. Freddy is the son of David, Roselyn’s (Malik’ wife) elder brother. David was a friend of Malik but now holds a grudge against him.

The story shows how Malik started things in past with smuggling and then becoming a godfather of the people after encountering several events. All the event making him more stronger but with all that he faces betrayal, loss of loved ones and a lot as well.

The movie has a lot to watch if you like drama films and the acting of Fahadh is mesmerizing. This actor is truly a versatile and can do any kind if role. With the amazing acting the film has a good storyline and a great showcase as well.

The only loophole with the film is that it gets a bit slow in between the great pace. But overall is a good watch.

Overall if drama movies are your choice this one is not a miss. If you are a fan of Fahadh, again you can’t miss it. Despite the film being a bit slow in between it keeps on creating things interesting.

Sweet Girl (Hollywood – 2021)

Sweet Girl is a 2021 English language action thriller film recently released on Netflix. The movie got mixed reviews by viewers.

Now coming to the story, it’s about big pharmaceutical companies who run after big profit and go by politics without caring about life of common people. The story is a small showcase of that and a family suffering due to it.

Amanda Cooper falls ill with a rare form of cancer and her husband Ray Cooper, is told that a potentially life-saving drug for his wife was taken off the market days before her treatment was about to begin, due to BioPrime CEO Simon Keeley paying the manufacturer to delay production to make profit. Watching Keeley on a live debate with Congresswoman Diana Morgan on a news channel, Ray calls in and threatens Keeley to kill him if his wife dies. Keeley doesn’t take the threat seriously and Amanda passes away soon after, devastating Ray and their daughter, Rachel.

Months later, Ray receives a call from a journalist telling him that he has evidence of crimes committed by BioPrime. They meet on a subway, unknowingly followed by Rachel and a hitman. The journalist explains that BioPrime has been bribing anyone who questions their dirty deeds, but before he can share his information, the hitman stabs him dead. As the train stops at a station, hitman also stabs Ray and knocks out Rachel.

Two years later Ray decide to go after Bioprime again and the real story starts from here.

Who is behind all this chaos? The real reason of common man suffering? What’s the role of sweet girl into all this? And how Ray is going to end this? To know more you need to watch the movie as we all know I never reveal the spoilers.

The story has a good twist as well and the action scenes are pretty good too. The critic said the movie was a waste of great talent but everyone liked the action and stunts in the film.

The film was not a waste of talent as the acting part was also great. The problem was with the script which everyone felt that it could have been much better.

Even with great action scenes the story was a bit sloppy in between and you feel like skipping it. The film goes from boring to exciting nd boring again to great action was a kind of roller coaster ride which not everyone enjoy.

Overall the film is an average and if you wanna watch the movie you can go for it and even uf you skip it, then don’t worry you haven’t missed much. But yes the action and stunts are good as per the budget.

Thimmarusu (Telugu – 2021)

Thimmarusu is a 2021 telugu language Indian crime thriller film recently released and available to watch on Netflix. The film is a remake of 2019’s Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni, which was a kannada language released.

Now coming to the story, the movie start with a dead body which 2 people are trying to get rid off unaware the fact that it’s all getting recorded on a phone. Later a taxi driver who was also a police informer try to collect it as an evidence but soon after that got murdered.

Ankith Koyya who is a bartender sees the body and inform police about the murder, but police suspect him only and frame him in the situation after which he is given life imprisonment for the murder of the cab driver. Over eight years later, Ramachandra (Satyadev), a new lawyer, with the help of a big firm opens up the case again knowing Ankith was not the actual murderer and he was just framed to save someone.

To find the actual murderer new rivals and a lot obstacles are on the way. Who is the actual killer and why he did all this? We have a lot of questions once we start watching the movie. And the answer to all the questions is the film itself. So to know more you need to watch the movie.

Although it is a remake but I am sure most if you are unaware about the film Birbal. The reason being Telugu movies are more popular then Kannada films.

But the best part is you can watch any if the film out if two or you watch one and if you like the movie and want to repeat it then watch another one.

The best part about the film is it’s story which is full of adventure thrill and also entertainment and successful in binding the viewers to their seats. Acting and direction is also equally good. And I would like to say don’t skip any of the movie just because of the language barrier.

Overall the movie is simply amazing and you can go for it any day, so don’t miss out on this one.

Snake Eyes: G. I. Joe Origins (Hollywood – 2021)

Snake Eyes: G. I. Joe origins is a 2021 American action superhero movie based on Hasbro’s G. I. Joe frenchise. Snake Eyes is one of the most skilled Joe and one of the best character in the series. We all were too much excited about the film but a lot were quite disappointed as well after the trailer came out. Let’s come to the story now.

After his father was murdered he has grown into a skilled martial arts fighter, keeping only one desire to avenge his father. To hide his true identity, he calls himself “Snake Eyes”. His father was forced to roll a pair of weighted dice, killing him when he rolled double ones. Those double ones are called snake eyes.

A wealthy Yakuza boss, Kenta, offers to find his father’s killer if Snake Eyes agrees to work for him. When Snake Eyes is asked to prove his loyalty by shooting a man who betrayed Kenta’s trust, Snake Eyes refuses and instead helps the traitor escape. The traitor is Kenta’s cousin, Tommy. Tommy and Kenta were both in line to lead the Arashikage clan, an ancient ninja society devoted to preserving order and fighting evil. Kenta sought to kill his cousin, but failed and was banished from the clan.

Tommy takes him to his ninja dojo in Japan and asks him to join. The current clan leader, Sen, Tommy’s grandmother, agrees to let Snake Eyes undergo three trials to determine if he is worthy. The three different trials are about the different characteristics of a person and The last trial is deadly too. But Snake Eyes has different plans to steal the clan’s most sacred treasure, the “Jewel of the Sun”, which has magical powers. In return of the jewel he will be rewarded with his father’s murderer, whom he desire to kill by his own hands.

To know more you have to watch this film.

We all have watched G. I. Joe cartoons, read their comics and played with the action figures and somewhere we also know a bit about the characters of it. And snake eyes is one of the best in them, silent and deadly.

From the release of the trailer, hardcore fans of the Joes were not happy abot a lot things specially with the lead character which should have been from an American origin not an Asian. Also the story is not as per the original.

This movie has just the name of Snake Eyes and nothing matching him else. The only best part about the movie is Storm Shadow. They just took the name and tried making the film like they want not as per the comics or even fans.

Overall if you are a fan of G. I. Joe, then please ignore the movie and if you are new to this then you can watch it like a decent action movie nd nothing more. Snake eyes is more skillful then shown in the film and that was a disrespect from the makers.

Don’t go for the five star ratings as those people don’t know much about this. A great disappointment, ruining the character. The past movies of G. I. Joe were much better then this.

The Suicide Squad (DC – 2021)

The Suicide Squad is a reboot of the old one and is an action adventure superhero movie based on DC Comics released on 5th August 2021. A much awaited film by DCEU. And as a DC fan it was on the watch list as well.

The last Suicide squad movie was not so great for all of us but there was a lot to like in that movie too. The chemistry between Harley Quinn and Joker was remarkable and so was their screen presence. Also I don’t know about meny but i loved Jared Leto Joke which was a psychopath lover. All the screen time with Joker was amazing with an astonishing music in the background.

But what we have here today is a new version of Suicide Squad with a lot of new characters with new powers and a reboot of the older one. Let’s not waste much of time and come to the story.

Suicide Squad is sent to the South America, nation of Corto Maltese after the government which is doing a secret experiment. Amanda Waller controlling the squad, tasked them to destroy the laboratory that holds a secretive experiment known as “Project Starfish”. Two teams entering the mission of which one is almost entirely wiped out by the Corto Maltese military upon landing, but this allows a second team to enter the country undetected. Meanwhile, Harley Quinn from the first team is taken prisoner by the Corto Maltese government, who are plotting to use Project Starfish against other nations.

The Squad captures The Thinker who is the head of project Starfish anh on the other hand Harley Quinn escapes and join the team. Now we all know that it is about saving America and also saving the world. That’s what superhero movies all about. To know what happened next and also to watch all the powers and all the actions, you have to watch the movie.

The best part is, even if you are a DC fan or a marvel fan, we all watch all the superhero films as the superpowers fascinate us.

But……………

After watching this movie I got a few questions in my mind which I wanna raise.

Didn’t get my point. No worries, let me explain.

Why did u made it DC & Warner Brothers…? And How you made the worst project of DC movies ever…? And For Whom you made this movie..? How much more you going to disgrace the DCEU…?

Don’t go for the reviews.. Please don’t. The worst DC movie ever and it’s a shame to say so as a huge DC fan. After watching this I could easily say that the previous Suicide Squad was much better, entertaining and with cooler superpowers.

Why I am saying so…? Let me explain. In the last film I thought Harley can get an Oscar for the performance and in this she was quite over. The Starfish was more like the film Alien. The story was stupid. Harley Quinn got the spear of destiny. A werewolf who can’t swim and the list keeps on going.

Don’t loose your hopes, there were some good parts too in the film. Only a few but yes there were, like Amanda Waller got hit and the King Shark. The screen presence of King Shark was entertaining and amusing. Idris Elba was good as bloodsport and John Cena as peacemaker.

But the story was really lousy, it felt long and boring and the main villian was laughable. And the most important part was that we all missed Joker.

All over the movie is the worst DC movie ever and please don’t waste your time and don’t spoil your mood by watching this. And also please ignore the good reviews as they are either paid or a kind of joke from Marvel fans.

Please watch DC Animation for best stories and action. And I hope in future they just copy a DC Animation film in DCEU and that would be a great hit.

Jungle Cruise (Hollywood – 2021)

Disney’s Jungle Cruise is a 2021 adventure fantasy film based on the Walt Disney’s theme park of the same name. The planing of this film started way back in 2004 but after a lot changes and delays it finally reached the audience in 2021. And for these kind of themes we all know that Dwayne The Rock Johnson is the perfect choice as we all love to watch him.

Now the film has a background story. In the 16th century, Spanish conquistadors comes to South America in search of the Tears of the Moon, a mythical tree whose petals cures any illness or injury, and lifts any curse. After most of the conquistadors die in the jungle, a local tribe saves the life of few with the tree petals. When the tribal chief refuses to reveal the tree’s location, they kill the chief and destroy the village. The dying chief curses the conquistadors so they can never leave sight of the Amazon River or else the jungle will claim them for all eternity.

Dr. Lily (Emily Blunt), is working on this legendary story and want to discover the Tears of Moon, to help people and bring revolution to the world. With her brother’s help she gained access to the key, which can help finding the Tree.

Frank (Dwayne Johnson) is a tour guide for Amazon River with a boat whom Lily and her brother hire to take them to desired location in search of Tears of the Moon and the adventure begins. But they are not the only one after it.

Who, where, when and how? To know all that you need to watch the movie. And we all know that these kind of adventure films are always on our watch list.

If we talk about the reviews then this one also got mixed reviews by critic. And movies like Journey, Jumanji make our hopes high even before watching.

The Adventure of jungle Cruise were a bit less adventurous and my point of view is, this could have been a lot better and with more animals as well. The chemistry between Dwayne and Emily is great but the story was sloppy and so were the CGI effects.

It felt like that it was more of a snake island only then the Amazon jungle and river and a lot animals were missing to give more thrill to the ride. But still the film is watchable and we can always watch such concepts.

The 8th Night (Korean – 2021)

The 8th Night ( 제8일의 밤 ) is a 2021 South Korean horror thriller released on Netflix and made available for streaming in 190 countries in July.

Many years ago, a monster roamed free that had planned to create eternal suffering on earth. Unable to kill it, the Buddha was able to stop the monster by ripping out its eyes, one black, one red. The red eye wasn’t captured without a fight. It followed seven stepping stones, which are seven different humans that it used as a bridge to reach humanity.

The last one is the Virgin Shaman. When the Buddha was able to stop the red eye, he placed both the eyes in different box never to be opened. He buried one eye in the mountains of the Far East, and for the other eye he created a desert of the Far West and buried the eye in it, so they would never reunite and the monster never comes again to life.

But after a few centuries a professor obsessed with the Buddha’s story finally finds the red eye and becomes successful in awakening that. The red eye will jump each stone in 1 night which makes the 8th night the final to reach out the black one.

A banished monk is destined to stop the evil comes in picture soon the red eye is released. Will he be able to stop that evil eye…? Or how…..?

To know all that you need to watch the film.

The background story is very interesting, wish the main story was even such. The film plot is kinda lousy and you may feel some of the unnecessary things in the movie as well. The plot had a lot of potential but they were unable to make it thrilling or even interesting. The movie has lot of potholes and even becomes boring at lot of times.

The Monk in action was what we all were waiting but that never happened. No horror factor in the film as well, only the girl which red eye possessed was creepy.

All over the film is a slow and boring and was a disappointment after watching. People would have liked it if it was just a story drama.
