How I Became A Superhero is a French language 2021 action fantasy film which is streaming now on Netflix.
It’s a kind off new age superhero movie where the world has accepted the heroes and it’s not a new thing but this world have superheroes with not so much of powers. The power level in the film is not that great but still enough to excite us all. In between all this going on there is this guy the main character of the film working in police department handling the cases related to superpowers working solo. Soon introduced to a new partner to work with, but not comfortable with the idea.
Working on the case they find out about a product or you can say a synthetic drug which can give superpowers to anyone using it. After a bit research they got to know that this synthetic drugs is made from the blood of people who already had superpowers and is now the main attraction of market specially the young kids.
Our main guy used to work with a superhero team who are retired now, but one always keep helping him and keep giving him inside info to get to the bottom of the case. Now different synthetic drugs with different powers link to the missing people with powers some good some bad is the only way to track down who all are behind this thing.
The movie reminds me of the film Project Power which had the similar concept of using drugs to get powers but that film had much more action then this one. This one is more of drama and story then action but still a decent watch.
The starting is interesting and movie flow is also good but in the middle is a bit slow. The film has loophole in plot but nothing major in that. In simple words you can say it is a small budget superhero movie.
The film is a decent watch overall and the story is nice. Not much new in this one but still feel a bit different. If you have nothing in your watchlist you can easily go for it but if you don’t feel like watching it, there is nothing much to miss out either.
